Why Cyprus?

Sink your toes into warm sand, feel the sun on your skin and look out over the sparkling blue SunsetMediterranean Sea.  Nothing beats Cyprus! There are a wealth of beaches to choose from, from fine white sandy beaches to deep bays with rocky outcrops perfect for diving or snorkelling.

Long stretches of coastline lend themselves to leisurely strolls, whilst secluded coves beckon when you want to be alone.  From the quiet backwaters of the Western peninsula to the lively resorts, the island has something for everyone.  Alternatively, just lie back and enjoy Cyprus' magical evenings, gazing at the stars through clear skies.

Taste one of the oldest wines in the world. Walk in the pine-scented forests or ski on the snowy peaks. Wonder at Greek Temples, Byzantine churches and ancient artefacts thousands of years old.

Play a round of golf, go cycling or hiking around the countryside or take up a new sport.  Look beyond the sun and the sea.  In Cyprus there is much to enjoy, see and do.  It is a whole world condensed into a much smaller area, experience it all!

Paphos
Pahos is a place created for lovely memories.  This part of the island possesses all the elements of a perfect location : small sandy beaches that rank high on the list of some of Europe's best, lush natural surroundings, entertainment to suit all tastes and infinite sporting activities for all ages.  Among it attractions are its ancient mosaics, its beautiful old harbour, with it Byzantine castle, the Tombs of the Kings and the Temple of Aphrodite.

Limassol
Limassol (Lemesos) is situated in the south of the island and it is Cyprus' main industrial and maritime area and also the second biggest town in the country.  Set against the magnificent backdrop of the Troodos Mountains, Limassol has been known since the Middle Ages, when the Crusaders held Cyprus, under Richard the Lionheart, for its wine and sugar cane.  Now, with a population of around 135,000, it is an important commercial, maritime and tourist centre.  Places of interest include the Berengaria Castle, the place where Richard the Lionheart married Berengaria, Kolossi Castle, the ancient city of Kourion, Amathunta and Manu other archaeological sites scattered around the city.

A seafront promenade stretches the length of the town and, in the centre, there are bustling shopping streets. It has some of the best nightlife on the island and stages some of the island's best know festivals: the annual Wine Festival in September, the ten day pre-Lente Carnival with masquerade balls and grand parties, the Limassol Festival in summer and the ancient Drama Festival at Kourion ancient amphitheatre.  This plays host to numerous concerts and plays throughout the year.

Polis
This is a very popular destination, on the northern edge of the beautiful wild Akamas Peninsula, now a National Park.  The area is renowned for its sparkling turquoise sea and great snorkelling.  It has a very relaxed lifestyle, with many artists of all kinds and writers living there.  Further relaxation can be had at a nearby world class hotel and spa.  The area also plays host to the annual International Jazz Festival, with many other musical festivals throughout the year.  The planned Paphos to Polis highway and golf course, as well as the new Latchi marina, will add to its attraction.

Pissouri
Situated between Paphos and Limassol, lies the traditional village of Pissouri, Pissouri offers a mixture of old and new.  The traditional village square with cobbled streets has all basic amenities such as tavernas, banks and supermarkets, whilst Pissouri Bay has a world class hotel and spa, along with crystal clear waters and extensive sandy beaches.
